Now you have your aquarium  -  let's get it set up!

DO NOT PLUG ANYTHING IN YET

Wash the gravel & ornaments/plants in tap water.
Use water only.
DO NOT use any chemical cleaner.
Place them into the tank and arrange them as you would like.

Position the filter and the heater (if you have one) in the tank.
They should be at opposite ends.
Ensure there is space around each item for water to circulate.
Filters that are up against the sides will make a noise.
Set the temperature at 24-26 (c) for tropical fish.
NO HEATER SHOULD BE USED FOR GOLDFISH.

Fill the tank with water from the tap (room temperature is best).
DO NOT use bottled or filtered water.

Remember to add a dechlorinator (AquaSafe, Tap Safe or Stress Coat).
Ensure the water covers the filter completely or it will not work properly.

If you have purchased QuickStart, Stability or ATM Colony, you should put this in now.

NOW YOU CAN PLUG EVERYTHING IN AND TURN IT ON

Leave the water to circulate for at least 1 hour.
You can float the bag in the tank during this time.

After a minimum of one hour, follow the instructions on the fish transport bag.

The fish are perfectly fine in the bag for at least 2 hours (longer if informed in the store).

Do not rush.
Taking your time will give the fish the best chance of being happy and healthy in their new home.

Do not feed your fish for 3 days.
Never turn the heater or filter off.
The light should be turned off every night so the fish can sleep and to reduce algae growth.
